oPET - I almost killed a whale ®
1 medal = 1,5 PET bottle
Each medal produced from oPET means 1,5 PET bottle picked up from the polluted ocean, unsalted, dried, sorted and further changed into 3D printing filament. Then your medal is 3D printed from this 100% pure oPET - oceanbound waste plastic.
Our Commitment to a Sustainable Future
At 3DDen, we embrace a profound commitment to our planet's well-being, recognizing the delicate balance between our business and the environment. A core principle guiding our efforts is minimizing our ecological footprint. Our mission centers around a groundbreaking approach to addressing ocean waste, specifically ocean-bound plastic.
Turning Ocean Waste into Solutions
We actively develop and implement a large-scale solution to tackle ocean-bound plastic. Our innovative approach involves repurposing this waste, predominantly through 3D printing for larger objects. We firmly believe that by embracing this mission, we contribute significantly to our planet's health. Through the utilization of secondary materials, we not only save valuable resources but also drastically reduce the demand for fossil fuels and water in the production of primary raw materials. Through upcycling, we've achieved up to an 80% reduction in CO2 emissions compared to traditional plastic production.
A Global Challenge, A Global Solution
Waste management remains a persistent global challenge, and the elimination of ocean plastic waste stands as a crucial step in the right direction. By avoiding the use of primary materials, we champion a sustainable approach to environmental conservation.
Zero Original Plastic - Pure Recycled Excellence
At 3DDen, we prudly operate with <1% original petroleum-based plastic. Our products are crafted from pure recycled petroleum-based or bioplastic materials, supporting a circular economy.
Raising the Bar in Recycling
Currently, only about 9% of produced plastic is recycled globally. Our ambitious goal is to significantly increase this percentage by focusing on the production of large objects. With approximately 22% of plastic waste worldwide not properly managed, there's a pressing need for innovative solutions.
The Ocean's Call to Action
Why ocean waste? The ocean is the lifeblood of our planet, supporting all living organisms. Ocean pollution, particularly plastic waste and debris from the fishing industry, disrupts the delicate balance of marine ecosystems. While less than 0.5% of all plastic produced finds its way into the ocean, the absolute volume remains staggering - approximately 1 million metric tons annually. The Great Pacific Garbage Patch alone holds around 100 million kilograms of plastic, with 1.8 trillion pieces larger than 0.5 mm. By reusing ocean-bound plastic to produce sustainable products, we contribute to the preservation of marine life and the overall health of our oceans.
Our Vision for a Sustainable Tomorrow
3Dden's primary goal is to repurpose ocean-bound plastic to create a range of more sustainable products. Join us in making a difference. Together, we can build a future where responsible business practices pave the way for environmental harmony.
Let's discuss how we could cooperate to build our sustainable future together.
